Meeting at the Pearse Museum on the 19th November at 2pm

We are going to have a get together to display the work done by people who participated at the workshops.

We will meet at the Pearse Museum on the 19th November at 2pm in the gallery to display your finished work - it can be a drawing, painting, photo, poem, sculpture, etc related to the theme of home as chatted about at the workshops. If you didn't produce anything, you're very welcome to come along anyway and see what others have been up to.

We will put the original work or a photograph/scan of it into a book form (artists notebook) or dvd slide show and display it at the museum for the last two weeks of the exhibition and then send it off to Brazil. Bring whatever materials you have relating to the project and we will work out together how best to display it, glue it, stick it into place.

Here is some great work done by Carmen based on the Valencia Las Fallas festivals where they burn an effigy. See what she has chosen to do. We will burn it and film it towards the end of the exhibition and if anyone feels they would like to create an effigy to burn with Carmens piece get making it or gathering it - if we can't do it at the Pearse museum we'll do it in the garden at our house. We will be doing the long promised raffle that day so please turn up as you may be the winner.

Do invite anyone you want to come along, we'll have a coffee after as well. Thankyou.

A Big Thank You!

Thankyou to everyone who made it to the workshops and presentations and filled out questionaires and made everything much more real and fun at the same time. I hope to get a finished piece of work from most of you, a photographic reproduction canAdd Image be sent to my email address. I will keep you all posted as to what we hope to do with it all but most likely it will become part of a book and will be displayed as a slide show at the Pearse Museum as part of the ongoing show.

Volunteers Needed - Brazilian Irish Exhibition Saturday October 5th 2011Opening 3pm

Hi, fellow sketchers if you are reading this, I need some volunteers in October for a series of workshops. if anyone is willing to attend all or even just one drawing workshop just after the exhibition opening in October between the 9th and 14th please let me know. Just leave a note in the comments section and I'll send you an invite with more details when I get a chance. It'll be a collective drawing session relating to the exhibitions theme and should be a bit of fun as well. The idea is we learn from the collaboration together. Places are limited to a max of 15.
That's it. Look forward to seeing you all in October at sketching again, hopefully some of you will make it to the exhibition on the Sat 8th afternoon. Free refreshments even if the art aint great.
Cheers, now I'm off to Brazil for phase one.

The presidential race has been run.

It was a presidential race well run, commiserations to Senator Norris, you got my vote at least, and all the other candidates too, but there could only be one. Well done Michael D. Higgins
